YOU: Hey Molly, what do you want to be when you grow up?

ME AT THIRTEEN: Well, I want to move to New York City. Obviously. Probably go to NYU. I guess Avenue A or B because that's what they mention in Rent. Have a golden retriever and be really skinny and have long hair. I want a boyfriend with black hair who's punk but not in an intimidating way. I want to direct a new version of The Crucible by the time I'm eighteen, and play Mary Warren, and be nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Or be a writer. Write plays or books, books that are about life in New York and are about best friends and have some creepy sex scenes but nothing too serious. And still make zines with Zan.

Bad Behavior was better than I ever could have imagined. The stories kind of went in a story-about-prostitute, story-about-masochism ABAB pattern, but the last story is about neither and is best of all. It is the book I dreamed of writing nine years ago and it's evergreen.
