"People hate Mark because he is a stereotypical improv guy, he always seems like he is kidding, never brings conviction to a character, is horrible at impressions and is consistently the weak-link on the show. To wit: the sketch where he is a bluesman, the sketch where he is a cat. Also, The Chicken Lady sucks although she is a big favorite of my grandmother's." - Abe Scott

What's your take on Mark McKinney? Will anyone step to the Headcrusher's aid?

I gotta say I sort of agree with that take on old Markey M. I like the headcrusher dude but that's about it. Sorry. SUX 2 B U.
I mostly know him for his role in iconic Hollywood films such as Spiceworld, where, in comparison to George Wendt, he drops the ball numerous times.
i also agree, as much as i like the headcrusher (real name mr. tyzik), he lacks the range that every other great sketch comedian has and also lacks dave foley's eyes of blue
definitely least fave. i did like the episode near the end of the series, possibly the last, where they discover that their manager was actually in more scenes than mark.
A few notes:
I wasn't intending for that little bit to be blogged. This is sort of like the time my friend wrote me asking for advice on a hatchet piece he was writing about Sonic Youth for a book. I wrote back a long e-mail detailing what I thought was wrong from Sonic Youth, although it was explicitly written from the point of view of someone who has been a fan of theirs for years. My friend told me that I "had the fire" and that my letter was going to be published in the book in lieu of his piece. I was sort of touched but the editor re-wrote my piece and made it much meaner and snarkier. I guess I was/am happy for the attention but I wish it had been taken in context.
In the event that Mark McKinney uses Google Blog Search for "MARK MCKINNEY" ever few weeks and he has yet to read this I need to make a few things clear:
1.) He is a member of the Kids In The Hall. I love all of them very much and being my least favorite Kid is still a big achievement.
2.) My favorite Kids In The Hall sketch - the bear/deer one - is very Mark heavy and in fact he delivers my favorite line. ("Do what you do.)
3.) Although underutilized in his tenure on Saturday Night Live he still managed to escape with more dignity than Michael McKean, Janine Garafalo and Chris Eliot in the "lateral-move-to-SNL" department.
4.) When I met him as a Kids In The Hall obsessed 15 year old he was very nice to me. He even reluctantly did the headcrusher thing in the picture I took with him. What a guy.
