My Cell Phone
Last night when I was sort of delerious and laying out in bed and occasionally reading State By State, I decided to undergo the daunting task of figuring out the demographics of the people in my cell phone (and not institutions, ie. Kims, Haircut, etc.). It got too hard and I gave up, but I will say that my cell phone is pretty much representative of all of America: it is more or less evenly split between male and female, young, and the largest non-Caucasian group is by far Hispanic. Things atypical of the larger American scale: the pretty vast quantity of Jews, and the fact that thirty-eight percent of my phone has done comedy at some point (this is not even counting people like Zan and Carrie and Adam and John, who have basically done comedy, or people like the male staff of Kim's, who I suspect have done comedy at some point and aren't up front about it).
