Saw Sid & Nancy and except for the font in the closing credits/unintelligibility it was just as good as I remembered (BAM's Punk 'n' Pie series should have been retitled "You'd Love This In Middle School!"). And don't worry, didn't come out of it with crushes on Sid or Nancy, just Gary Oldman, as per usual, and Quindon Tarver-eque disappointment about Chloe Webb today. I would say I have a crush on BAM too (I mean, they did sucker me into a membership) except they're closed for late December-early February - what kind of movie theater takes a hiatus? Is this so they can brainstorm more super-creative film series? Not buying it.

Post a comment: what is your favorite movie theater?

Landmark Sunshine Cinema on the Lower East Side: the perfect trifecta of location, aesthetics, and good film selection.

Also, do you have a least favorite? I do: Lincoln Plaza. It smells like a subway and the seats go UPHILL toward the screen, WTF??!!

AMC Lincoln Square. So many trailers - at least 7 per film! - and luxurious proscenia over each screen. Oh my it made "Changeling" tolerable.

Frankie, you are right about Lincoln Plaza. Smells bad, expensive, bad seating, movies are always too precious. Also, Zan has always voted "best popcorn" for Landmark Sunshine and OMG remember when we saw David Wain there?

Dan, that movie theater is second only to Union Square as far as "best to sneak in to." However, weird semi-Egyptian decorating motif.

Only time I have ever snuck around Lincoln Square = double feature whereby I paid for "The Darjeeling Limited" and snuck into "In the Valley of Elah." The popcorn vendors saw me and didn't care; that was, though, a horrible day.

After "Children of Men," having had 8/10 of a good movie experience, I almost, on impulse, snuck into "The Holiday." I thought better of it.

i hated nancy so fucking much when i saw that. sid was a piece of shit too, of course. but i do like when his version of "my way." a lot. i used to try real hard to own the criterion for that one. that one and robocop, but they are both sadly out of print.
