There are some Penguin Deluxe editions that I am very excited for (August's Scarlet Letter and Ethan Frome) and some I not as stoked to read but am really drawn to the covers of; does anyone have any strong "yes read this it's not boring your heart is wrong never judge a book by its cover" or "ur rite dis book sux" opinions?

1. Ethan Frome is a boring and worthless book about precious pickle jars - avoid it.

1. I remember kinda liking it - Wharton's style if not the plot. Obviously the pickle jar detail is the main one I remember besides the ending.
2. Yeah that is the dilemma - besides Little Women it's the best cover, so so good.
I love Candide, and that cover is absolutely perfect! It's a very short novel, more like a novella, and hilariously funny and dark. Also, once you read the book, then you can see the musical, which is flawed but has some great songs. So, Candide is a yes.
I am proud to say that I have read Moby Dick, the whole thing, cover to cover. I read it mostly so that I could proudly tell people that I had read Moby Dick, the whole thing, cover to cover. It's quirky and epic and I enjoyed it, but it's not to everyone's taste and is a HUGE commitment, so you must look within your heart on this one.
Candide is likely the only thing written before 1992 that's worth anyone's time.
